Golf is a world renowned sport. It has gained quite a lot of popularity. Golf a profession, a sport, a leisure activity, clubs, meetings about golf, and what not is there about golf and still we can’t get enough of it. So let us know what is the game of golf all about?? Golf is a game in which the player is supposed to hit a tiny heavy metallic ball with a long metal made stick specialized designed to play golf and is called Club. The player is required to put the ball in the maximum number of holes present on the golf course and here the point to be taken care of is that the player should try and do this in least number of shots. The very first golf game was played in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1456AD at the Bruntsfield links as the surveys suggest and the records in the archives in the Edinburgh Burgess Golfing Society better known today as The Royal Burgess Golfing Society. The game of golf is pretty much old however there have been no evidences of its origin found as yet. The unsorted mystery still continues between mainly three nations namely China, Dutch and Scotland as to who invented the game of golf first. Since the only records are shown by Scotland therefore it is believed that that golf originates from there and evolved as early as 1100s. Since there is so much about the golf history so there exists the history so some very famou8s golf courses as well. The oldest golf course in the world is THE ROYAL ANCIENT GOLF COURSE OF St. ANDREWS in the Musselburgh old Links golf Course where the very famous Mary Queen of Scots played in 1567. it is located along the sea. There were in all 18 holes at the St. Andrews which is not a very common figure.
How too go about playing golf To begin with golf is played in a very widespread area which is like large green grassland and is called a Golf Course. This grassland is consists number of holes containing a teeing area, fairway etc a proper golf course consists of 18 holes though usually there are only nine present in most of the golf courses. The game is based upon playing on the given number of holes in the course in a specific order. Golf is played in number of rounds where the player is supposed to put the ball into the number of holes present on the course order wise depending upon the number of holes also. If there are 18 holes on the course the then there is only one round whereas if there exist nine holes then two consecutive rounds need to be played. The player is required to hit the ball from a teeing box which is an area marked for the first shot and further as the ball arrives to a stand still position it is hit again and this process follows until the ball reaches the final cup. When the ball is on the grass it is hit across the ground to land into the hole. The main rule is that the player should be able to put the ball into the cup in the least possible tries. The score of the players is noted by them for each other in the score cards. Golf is based on certain rules and regulations which are a must to be abided in order to play a perfect golf game. In the midst of so many trouble and conspiracy seeking sports Golf is one such sport which has managed to stay away from all kinds of mishaps. It has somehow maintained its dignity. The golf players as yet have less often been a media lights seeker and have successfully maintained their dignity. Golf is a sport which gives you pleasure and comfort as well. It has gained a lot of spectatorship over the time period and st6ill continues to be hot favorite amongst the crowds of all age groups from youths to the senior age groups. |
